Take a brush and brush your cat reguallery, then wet your hand and pass it across your cats hair. Next, try bathing your cat weekly, to reduce the chance of hairballs on cats. I found this great tip on catlovingcare.com

Here in the UK, we have some great products if your cat already has a hairball, otherwise I agree with regular brushing to keep the excess fur at bay!

Brushing is good and try giving your cat some petroleum jelly (Vaseline, just make sure it's pure and has nothing esle added). It helps them pass the hair. You can buy Laxatone, or something similar, and they are good too, but Vaseline is cheaper.
