Derek Gehl interviewed Brian Tracy on Time Management. Brian said that 49 out of 50 top CEOs said they planned their next day each evening, setting all items as A, B, C... priority. Always do A items before B items, etc. Learn to delegate C, D, E items.

I agree that Open Office is wonderful, but I've had problems with it freezing and crashing on my Mac. So I've turned to a derivative free product that's much more stable - Neo Office at http://neooffice.org

For the Mac, which I use far more than my PC, I use Text Wrangler. It's awesome for coding, can open and even compare multiple docs, can search and replace in multiple files - opened or not, includes FTP uploading built in and as they say so much more :)

One of my favorite free computer tools is NotePad++ -- a fantastic text editor. It uses tabs and allows you to manipulate text and create macros. NotePad++ is indispensable if you work a lot with text. http://notepad-plus.sourceforge.net/uk/site.htm

Open Office is good for WORD documents and EXCEL files. Firefox for the best internet browser :) SKYPE for Instant messaging and chat. AVIRA is a good antivirus software (free). JSAS is a good Joomla server tool. Powertab Editor for learning guitar.

I've never used NoteTab myself, but I do use Trellian CodePad, which is really great for quick web page editing since it uses colored HTML syntax highlighting and line numbering.

Kompozer (formerly Nvu) is a great free Web authoring program. I prefer the .8 apha version to the .7.10 released version. For me it seems to have fewer bugs. http://kompozer.net/

Two of my favorite productivity tools are: Kinook's Ultra Recall, Evernote's Evernote. Ultra Recall let's me manage my complex info in ways I couldn't imagine doing without it. Evernote lets me access important info (even if complex) from anywhere

NoteTab is a really great text editor. I use it daily. It uses tabs, and it's possible to have lots of files open at the same time. NoteTab Light is the freeware version, and that's what I use. @notetab.com

Faststone Photo Resizer is a very useful product. Resize one image at a time, or resize images in bulk. Great both for sizing an image to the right height & width, and for reducing the Kb size of images for website use.

Serif has older versions of their apps available free at freeserifsoftware.com. I've used their apps for years and found them to be excellent. If you're not an extreme power user, the older versions are usually more than adequate.

I use Microsoft One Note (included in MS Office for Home & Student) to capture notes and links during webinars, that I want to check later . Tabbed and sectioned like a three ring notebook so its familiar to use.
