Any spots that won't clean easily from your windscreen can generally be removed with a rag moistened with methylated spirits or vinegar. Rinse with clear water and dry with a soft cloth.

If your windscreen wipers are smearing, clean the blades with methylated spirits.

A thin layer of clear silicone rubber sealant applied along the tops of body mouldings on your car will stop water from getting in behind them. Rust commonly forms when water is trapped behind mouldings.
