The single most powerful step you can take for swine flu prevention or to protect yourself from influenza in general is to increase your vitamin D levels by getting more sunshine, taking a nutritional supplement or eating cod liver oil, herring & salmon.

The second most important step is to wash your hands properly and frequently. At least 20 seconds with warm water and soap. Rub hands together briskly under water. Rinse thoroughly and use a clean towel to dry. Use towel to turn off faucet.

Take lots of vitamin C as well. The numerous benefits of vitamin c are some of the most well documented.

Stay away from crowds; particularly keep young children away from crowds where there is a larger chance for germs to be spread. This is true for all infectious diseases, not just to prevent catching the swine flu.
