As the leaves of spring bulbs emerge, apply a light dressing of bulb fertilizer. Do it before the flower blooms or the plant will not have enough time to use the nutrients before it goes dormant.

Though spring is often wet, make sure that the bulbs do not dry out. Mulching will help conserve moisture.

Deadhead spring flowers like daffodils, hyacinths or tulips as soon as the blooms fade. Otherwise they will waste energy on the dying flower when they could be using it to build a stronger bulb for the following year.
