Tip Sheet

I just read in the New York Times about a microchip system that keeps even better track of your cat than original ones. You should also keep an eye on your cat so it doesn't get out if it's an indoor cat.

Know where your cats are. Do a cat check upon entering and exiting the home. This prevents cats from sneaking out the door without your knowledge.

Get your cat microchipped. Though there has been some controversy, microchips are proving to be effective at reuniting lost cats with owners.

Get your cat an id tag and collar. Breakaway collars are best for cats, and the id tag should contain current contact information for you and your vet. An id tag brought Emily, a tabby cat, home to the US from France.

Old is Gold!! Go for a transmitter!! It will help in tracking the cat and get it connected with an alarm, which will ring if your cat goes beyond a certain distance say 15 metres
