Florence, Italy. Amazingly rich in art, sculpture and architecture. You can explore all over on foot, eat wonderful food, walk to scenic views of the city from the hills. Easy day trips to dozens of gorgeous hill towns, vineyards. Can't wait to go back.

Athens, Greece Fabulous mediterranean food, music, art, architecture and history. best enjoyed in Spring or Fall to avoid the crowds. Easy access to the islands by high speed (or slow) ferries.
