Skype.com Ok, so if you have a skype account and they have one - you both can video conference for FREE! Now you have no excuse not to keep in touch. Need: Computer, Internet connection, webcam and a smile! = )

Email can be used for serious letters, cheer-up letters, fun stuff such as jokes and riddles, even games.Send favourite recipes, or URLs of interesting web sites. Your family can scan and share some of your grandkid's drawings, or schoolwork with you.

This is a great way to connect over distance that way even though you don't see your grandchildren often you can still maintain close contact and be there if they need you to share important times

Interact with your older grandchildren on Facebook. Even teens who seem to have little to say when you see them in person enjoy talking to you online.
