Download Ccleaner and run scan. Clean all temp and cache files then run the registry scan and fix all problems. Make sure you back up registry first.

Go to start button, then click run or in vista search, type msconfig, click on the startup tab at the top. Almost everything can be unchecked, and windows will still work, i would google each item to see if its needed or not then uncheck them, then reboot

Download and install Malwarebytes from the official website. It's free. Update it and run a full scan on all hard drives. It will get rid of most spyware issues including the rogue anti-virus programs that are out there.

remove old programs you dont need installed, Also defrag your hard disk to optemize the data on your drive.
