Set up a 301 Permanent Redirect to redirect a domain name from one to another; meta refresh and 302 redirects are not recommended.

Most domain names are hosted on a Unix type of server, so you would typically edit the .htaccess file to set up the 301 permanent redirect.

Put this rule into the apache config file, that handles the virtualhost. <IfModule mod_rewrite.> RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www.old.com$ RewriteRule ^(.+)$ www.new.com/$1 [R=301,QSA,L] </IfModule>
