Never write down your Social Security Number on any sheet of paper like checks, business cards, address labels, etc. Do not put your SSN card in your wallet where it can lost or stolen.

I use the Lifelock system. Anytime I try to open an account the creditors check to be sure its me. I also got notification that my son had an employer listed on his credit, because he was a minor they wanted to be sure it was actually him
