Tip Sheet

Young rabbits and pregnant mothers need alfalfa based pellets, while adult rabbits should only have timothy hay based pellets.

Look for a pellet that doesn't have any junk in it. Junk would be dried fruits, nuts, or colored pieces. The food should just be pellets. Rabbits have a sweet tooth and will eat junk instead of pellets.

Make sure the food hasn't expired & doesn't expire soon. Pet food can sit on store shelves for a long time. The longer it sits the more nutrients the pellets lose.
