If you're using graphics in your ebook don't forget that there is a free Photoshop compatible program called the GIMP, that allows you to ensure your graphics are high quality, because if you're going to use graphics, make sure they look good.

Open Office is absolutely the way to go to create an eBook, then convert to a PDF.

If you want to add screenshots to your product there is no need to buy expensive software. Simply press the PrtSc key and this will copy the current screen ready to paste into your editing software.

An ebook might not be the best way to produce a product. Training courses, physical books, video and audio products can all be more marketable alternatives.

The Adobe PDF document format is the most versatile format for creating ebooks. You can create them directly from a word processor like OpenOffice Writer.

Use PDF995. It install as a printer driver. Choose the Print command from any Windows application, choose PDF995 as the printer, and print. Your document gets saved as a PDF file. Retain hyperlinks in your document. Even copy-protect & print-disable it.
