Tip Sheet

The healthiest and safest way to lose fat is by a slow and steady process. This will also most likely result in permanently keeping the fat off. Your goal should be to lose one to two pounds of fat per week.

Think fat loss, not weight loss. What really matters is not how much weight you lose, but how much fat you lose. Your goal has to be to lose fat while maintaining muscle.

Starvation diets don't work. You can lose weight quickly by drastically reducing calories, but the weight loss will primarily be water weight, not fat. Cut back on calories if you want to lose fat, but never drastically reduce calories.

Eat five to six small meals per day. Small, frequent meals (as opposed to two or three big meals) help to keep your metabolism high, literally "stoking the furnace" within your body and helping you to burn more fat.

Don't eat sugary foods before working out. Eating sugary foods before working out will cause an insulin spike that will significantly reduce the possibility of your body tapping into its fat stores during the workout.

If you want to lose body fat cut the crappy mentality of saying your going to workout and not do it. You need to take control of your life and set personal goals for your weight lost and then start to think of the requirements needed for your journey.
