Tip Sheet

I don't know about flees, BUT Ticks do not like to bite on humans who have eaten garlic. This works on cats too! ... So, add some garlic in your cat's food and less ticks will jump on your pet.

Let me warn everyone NEVER to use over-the-counter spot on treatments like Zodiac products. They contain neurotoxins that can kill pets, especially cats. My cat nearly died from Zodiac's Spot On treatment. Definitely go with Frontline or Advantage.

If garlic worked, there would be no need for Frontline. It is an old wife's tale. And don't count on it to keep you safe from ticks either. The Frontline bonds to the oil layer of the skin and is not absorbed into the blood stream. Safe and effective.

If you don't want to use Frontline, etc., brewer's yeast can help. Garlic is not safe for cats, it can cause kidney failure. More tips: http://bit.ly/cZF10x

If garlic worked, there would be no need for Frontline etc. The most important thing to use is an Insect Growth Regulator like Archer. IGR FAQ is here: http://www.fleasmart.com/igr.htm . Stop the hatch out and you will stop fleas and ticks.

Please do not use garlic...it's very bad for cats. I use Revolution for fleas and heart worm protection (though I wish I had a natural way to do this)but I'm not sure it covers ticks.
