Some people tell me, that they burried their cat/dog under a rose bush so that every spring the fine smell of roses brings back the sweet thoughts about the cat/dog. some ideas: bury your pet somewhere near to you so you can remember him/her always.

How i buried my first dead pet (mouse) was by writing a long pretty golden writen letter to her about how great she was, how much we love her and that we wish her to rest in peace wherever she is. that brought up the good, fond memories of her.

If you bury your child's pet with your child there, it will understand better that the pet isn't going to come back and writing a letter to it will always keep the good things in mind and when you bury it with your pet, you can put the death behind you.

Another sweet thing to do, is to burry your pet with some of its favorite blankets, treats, toys and things. You can light a candle on its grave and sing it some songs or talk to it. if you are religious, you can pray for it.
