Try and get the email address of people at your gigs. Along with the flyers mentioned above perhaps have a tear off that they can write their email on (Have pens or pencils handy) so you can notify them of your next gig. (Yes this requires work :) )

Better than flyers give everyone attending the show a drop card to download 1 or 2 tracks - that way you get the name and email address of fans that you can contact over and over again

At every show or gig you play from now on have someone collect the name and email addresses of all your fans

Interact socially with fans. People love to connect with artists these days and it pays dividends to have conversations with fans and potential fans to show you are on their level. You can do this online with social media or your own site and at shows.

Get well-connected online. Take advantage of the popular networking sites. Myspace, Twitter, Facebook. ReverbNation.com is great for artists and has fan collector widgets. Also, if you have the budget, band merch(t-shirts are great drumsticks GuitarPicks)
