I am not a fan of building a website for free because you do not end up owning the site. I do like using Weebly to build sites that link to my sites. I only use free webspace to add value to my own sites. I have found Weebly pages rank quickly.

Another very popular site is http://www.wix.com/ not only can you make a webpage here, but you can also create a custom myspace layout.

I really really like using Wordpress. I know it's not free and all because you have to have a host and domain in order to setup a website, but I looove it.
