Because crochet is so quick to do, you are forever pulling wool free. Solve the problem by putting the ball in a clean container, such as a bucket on the floor. It will unravel without you having to continually stop work just to pull wool free.

Once you have some experience, it isn't hard to make garments without sewing up seams. EG: Join the chain for a sleeve into a circle, then join each row turning your work at the end of each row. A little adjusting is sometimes necessary with patterns.
