To quickly access display properties right click any blank space on your desktop. Select properties from the pop up menu.

CTRL-ALT-DEL. The very important urgent key combo whenever your computer hangs due to unresponsive programs. Bail out of these programs immediately using this life-saver. CTRL-PRTSC is also great for capturing onscreen images.

Press the Windows Key plus the E key. With the window that opens, you can quickly access your files and folders. On XP and earlier systems this was called “Windows Explorer.”

To select all press Ctrl+A. Pressing Ctrl+F will open a search box in most browses and word processors. Press "End" key to quickly move to the end of text. Press "Home" key to get back to beginning of text.

When going to a .com website in IE or Firefox, just enter the domain name (e.g. tipdrop) and then press the CTRL + Enter keys together. It will add the necessary parts of the URL before and after the domain, saving you a few keystrokes and a bit of time.

When selecting text, if you double click a word the entire word is usually selected. If you triple click you'll get the entire paragraph, usually.

Press Windows Key plus the M key to minimize all open programs and get back to the desktop. Press Windows key plus Shift plus M to restore everything.

For most modern internet browsers, the Ctrl + T (New Tab), Ctrl + C (Copy), Ctrl + V (Paste) are invaluable. The Crtl + K (highlight search bar) and Crtl + L (highlight address bar) are not as well known but are still useful.

For Windows users with a windows keyboard - Windows Key + M will minimize all of the currently open windows and let you see the desktop. This is nice when you get too many windows open at once.
