I have found that when I take time to write an article that really makes sense, and I put time and effort into it, that it is worth more than 5 or 10 article that doesn't say much. Try to create a buzz or make your audience think about what you said.

Submit high quality articles to social news sites like http://digg.com and http://propeller.com

For best results use Anchor Text containing your keywords, when creating links to your site. Your keywords should appear as a clickable link to your chosen URL. The page you are linking to should also be optimised for the same word.

Submitting the same article to too many sites may sometimes get your keywords de-listed. Happened to me once. Would recommend submitting in moderation to those top ranking article submission sites like Ezine Articles, Idea Marketer, Go Article, etc.

Don't just think about your articles as products to submit to article directories. Be creative. With minor rewriting they can be used elsewhere, for instance as blog posts, site content, or the basis for a Squidoo lens.

Do your research. Be sure to write about topics that your readers want (ie, will get traffic) and not topics you want to write about or that you think people want to read.

Check out the titles most viewed articles for a category on Ezine Articles. Look for a common thread amongst the titles and how the titles are written then model your article the same way. Last month most fitness articles were about Hugh Jackman.

If the article is made up of tips, then use this as the basis for a new tip sheet on TipDrop, or add the tips to an existing and relevant Tip Sheet.

Use keyword research tools to confirm that your article idea is in a topic both searched for and without a huge amount of competition. That will help you to draw more traffic.

Do not place links in the main body of your article, this will almost certainly result in your article being rejected by the Directories. Use the 'Author Bio' box for your links and only use a maximum of two links per article.

Instead of writing and submitting individual articles, do batches. Example, do research for a batch of 10 articles. Then write the 10 articles. Then submit the 10 articles. Your batch size could be 5, 30, 50, whatever you can handle.

Find keywords that have less than 50,000 competing pages, make sure it's in your title and text (3 times), then add your article to ezinearticles.com, Searchwarp.com and Goarticles.com and you'll get that first page spot on Google

Google loves Ezinearticles.com. Choose a keyword that has traffic but not too much competition. This can put you on the first page of Google in a day. Create a page on your site to complement the article and put a direct link to it in the resource box.

We write articles for backlinks and to have publishers pick them up. I joined MyArticleNetwork.com which has over 10,000 blogs it drip feeds to, anchor text links in the text, it also let's you spin them and add your blog for free content. It's Great

Monitor your submissions and measure how quickly your articles are published and how many times they are viewed. This will enable you to create a list of the top performing directories and indentify those that are a waste of time, of which there are many.

For Ezinearticles.com - If you have a mailing list, ask your readers to view and comment on your article. Once the article is in the top 15 "Most Viewed" articles for your category, the article takes on a life of its own for attracting traffic.

Take advantage of popular fads. If something is popular at the current time, write an article about it. Promote your main web site or blog in the article. You should also write articles about popular search engine keywords and phrases.

Make sure your articles are of a good quality. Don't just write for search engine spiders or to get links back to your website. Write for your readers. Remember, your credibility as an expert in your field is as important as getting visitors.

Pay very close attention to the anchor text you use in your author block. This is the secret to getting to the top of the search engines for your keyword phrase.

Include your main keyword in the title - as near to the beginning as possible - plus in the first and last paragraphs. No more than a couple more times in the body text, together with a closely related minor keyword phrase as well.

Be sure to mention that you're an expert in the topic (if you are.) People pay more attention to experts. It takes about 1000 hours of practice to be really good at something. 10,000 hours to master it.

Try to get your articles into articles with DOFOLLOW links i.e. NOT nofollow links - check in the source code of the webpage for a similar article.

As one who has been writing articles for free reprint since 2005 for Ezinearticles.com I can underline that it has never been possible to predict which articles are doing best - and all my articles are still pupping up, BUT some steal our articles.

Tip Credibility: 4

submitted by PhotoSoren 2009-07-17 02:30:18 pm

The worst is when the persons who steal your articles are mixing them up into rubbish with a special program to make them unique and your name is still under the article as the author, that is spoiling your credibility. HOW CAN WE PUNISH SUCH SCAMS?

In general my expereince as an article writer for five years is that it is well worth the effort to write original and thoughtful articles for free distribution.

To use PLR articles as your own is a problematic issue, but you can benefit very much from them if you are bilingual as I guess many readers of the TipDrop site are. - Just translate the English language article into your 'own' language and uploade it.

Before you upload your article to the Internet, do a Google search for the title. If there are a lot of advertisers for that title, use it ... if not, choose another title.

If you choose to convert your article into a video, first read your article into a voice recorder. Then play it back through an ear pod and repeat what you hear while looking directly into the camera. Easy and professional.

Make article videos to get more traffic. Since SEs can't read videos, there is no duplicate content issue. Probably scammers are now using video sitemaps to mislead SEs.

Use public domain movies (archive.org) for videos. Add the URL of the page you want to link to as the first description line when you upload. Use TubeMogul.com to upload to 20+ video network sites for free.

Use a Tool Like Market Samuari to find keyword phrases that get high traffic and low competition. Optimize your article for that phrase. If it becomes popular, you may dominate the phrase with links back to your site.

When writing your article bio stress that if the article is used you expect a hyperlink back to your site, not just the url. Many people using articles do not bother doing thus.

Pay as much attention to the resource box as you do to your article writing and keyword research. Test different variations for your resource box. The best article won't bring any traffic to your website if people don't click on your link.

Blog Commenting is one of the key ways to drive traffic. Leaving useful comments on related blogs helps your SEO and it will bring heaps of visitors as long as you leave a lot of comments on multiple sites and your comments are all of decent quality.

If you really want exposure, don't count on EzineArticles.com alone. Use a service like iSnare, or ArticleMarketer.com to do the heavy lifting for you. It's much better to have your article on 1,000 sites including EzineArticles.com than on one.
