The latest tips I've posted to TipDrop.
When developing your privacy policy, remember to include the specific wording Google requires if you run Adsense on your site. Tip Credibility: 26
Provide a professional support desk/ticket system in addition to other contact methods. Have multiple support categories and FAQ sections if possible (easy software instal options are available for free using cpanel hosting with fantastico). Tip Credibility: 23
Before submitting a site to unknown web directories, use Google search for site:www.directoryurl.com - as well as # pages indexed use +SHOW OPTIONS on LHS ro look for recent spidering/page rank/cache dates etc to see if Google likes the directory Tip Credibility: 22
Like me, if you don't know what Etsy is, here's their Google outline "Etsy :Your place to buy and sell all things handmade Buy and sell handmade or vintage items, art and supplies on Etsy, the world's most vibrant handmade marketplace" Tip Credibility: 27
Be careful who you link to. If visitors are directed to a dubious link, it reflects on your credibility. Watch for linked domains that have changed hands or expired and now contain no longer relevant content. Tip Credibility: 28
Provide FULL contact details & multiple methods to get in touch. If you don't want to use a street address, show a PO box. Publish a phone number which is NOT answered by kids or has silly message on machine. Be professional as you ARE in business! Tip Credibility: 22
When placing mutliple ad units on a page, the FIRST unit displayed, according to Google, contains the higher paying ads. Ensure the ad size & position chosen for that FIRST unit is the best possible for your site. Test test test Tip Credibility: 28
Set up a Google Analytics account and link your Adsense reporting to it as soon as you can! The additional reporting available - including which PAGES are actually earning - is far better than making poor assumptions using channel data. Tip Credibility: 32
Multiple issues with using PLR "off-the-shelf" without changes. Use the PLR license rights! Either change content significantly & put your own voice to it (& fix any inaccuracies) or use as stimulus material to create your own totally unique product. Tip Credibility: 24
If your tip sounds anything like blatant self promotion, it'll be voted down for sure no matter how good or useful the tip might really be. There's often a very fine line between something which sounds like spam, and the real thing. Tip Credibility: 26
A timely reminder from the TipDrop Forum... use URL channels to track your earnings from any of your external pages on sites which have Adsense rev-share - e.g. your TipDrop page right here, or any "Google sites" you have established. Tip Credibility: 36
Providing your full business contact address details on all your web site pages should make it easier to rank better for local search... as well as making it much easier for your "customers" to make contact with you. DON'T hide behind a contact form! Tip Credibility: 28
I would seriously stop thinking of your customers as an "on demand" ATM!!! Think of what YOU can do for them first... not how much they can add to your bottom line. That will all come later as long as you treat them right now :) Tip Credibility: 30
Link to them first! Be clever with appropriate anchor text to benefit them. Send a PERSONAL courtesy email letting them know it's there! And DON'T even ask for a link back! Enough will reciprocate & may even network with you in other ways in the future. Tip Credibility: 32
| 1. avoid automated "generic" emails requesting link swaps
2. don't threaten with "if you don't link back within x days" nonsense
3. and don't try to "sell" a PR#5 site that a link swap from your PR#2 site is good for both of us :) Tip Credibility: 28 |
