Bicycle Tire Air Pressure

Air up your 90 lbs or higher tires before every ride. I have a high pressure Foot pump with a gauge sitting right next to my Road Bike. Middleweight and wide tires need to be filled every month.

Fat Tire Tire pressure is usually 30-55 lbs, Narrow tires 50-70 lbs and skinny race tires 80-120 lbs. Be sure to check the pressure range on the side of the tire. Do not overfill your tires, the blowout is very loud.

Most flat tires on bicycles are caused by low tire pressure. Proper Tire pressure is different for different widths of tires. Usually the wider the tire the lower the pressure. Recommended pressure is always on the side of the tire.

You also want some weight on your handlebars. This will make the bike more controllable. If you position yourself so all your weight is off the handlebars your behind will get sore faster also.

Adjusting your Seat Height on your Bicycle

Proper Seat height will be more comfortable and efficient on your bike. While pedaling the bike, your leg to get almost completely straight at the bottom of the pedal stroke. This transfers more weight to the pedals and off the seat.

Bicycle Roof Rack Tips

Take your Garage Door opener off of your visor and put it in the glove box before you put your bike on the roof. This will help keep you from driving into your garage with your bike on your roof.
